New York professional practices
Provider credentialing and billing support for New York professional practices. We help organize enrollment, payer follow-up and billing setup, with clear responsibilities for your practice and our team.
Support is scoped for professional practices. We agree the enrollment and billing tasks with your practice; licensing authorities, the state and payers make their own decisions.
Distinct readiness layers
Keep four outcomes separate in your operating record: professional status checked, state enrollment determined, intended plan participation confirmed and applicable billing setup ready. Record the owner and unresolved question for each; completion of one does not establish the others.
Administrative support
Organize the provider, group, location and selected program requirements, with an owner for missing information.
Provider credentialing supportIdentify the appropriate provider/enrollment role and current official channel. A pending request, OPRA category or managed-care-only enrollment is not FFS billing permission.
Medicaid enrollment supportKeep state enrollment separate from the intended plan/product relationship and participation date.
Insurance contracting supportConnect participation evidence to applicable transaction setup, benefits checks and claim-response ownership.
Konnext also supports out-of-network professional billing for claim preparation, submission and payer follow-up within the agreed scope. Other tasks require a separate agreement. Claim submission does not establish payer participation or guarantee coverage or payment.
Medical billing supportThe practice and its authorized provider remain responsible for clinical records and required provider review/submission steps. Public inquiries are for general business needs only. Do not send identification documents, tax or bank information, patient records, claim details or access credentials.
Administrative handoffs
State and plan tasks can overlap. This work-management process does not imply a guaranteed sequence of approvals.
Define provider type, locations, intended payer products and current operating status.
Identify required records, responsible reviewers and approved access. Delegate preparation does not replace provider submission responsibilities.
Keep professional status, state decisions and intended plan participation separate, with their evidence and unresolved questions.
Review applicable transaction setup, eligibility ownership, notices and outstanding payer responses. Tasks can overlap; one approval does not complete the others.
Official New York resources
Follow current eMedNY PSP and provider-type instructions before an application. The program distinguishes FFS, managed-care and non-billing OPRA categories. State enrollment, a plan contract and electronic transaction readiness answer different questions.
Official program references reviewed October 23, 2026.
Ownership and maintenance
Your practice may have state enrollment confirmed while plan participation or billing setup remains pending. A readiness record shows the open item, the responsible practice or payer contact and the next action.
New York practice questions
Keep professional status, enrollment, participation and billing setup separate.
No. State enrollment and a plan's participation requirements are separate. Confirm the intended plan, product and effective date rather than assuming one approval covers all payers.
Use current eMedNY PSP and provider-type instructions to identify the appropriate enrollment channel before an application. If older forms or pages conflict with current guidance, resolve the channel question before proceeding.
No. The enrollment guide treats the NPI as a prerequisite and describes a separate state review and written determination.
Approval and effective date are important, but applicable ETIN, eligibility and transaction setup also need to align. A pending application or a non-billing enrollment category should not be treated as permission to bill fee-for-service Medicaid.
No. Use it only for general business contact and service needs. Do not submit patient information, identification documents, tax records, bank details, credentials or payer passwords. Any later document exchange requires an approved service workflow.
An agreed scope can focus on new provider or location changes, enrollment maintenance, billing readiness or unresolved payer responses. Identify the actual provider type and program first. This page focuses on professional practices and does not establish that every facility or provider category follows the same route.
Confirm the providers, locations, programs and payer tasks included, who supplies and approves records, the authorized access process and any separate costs. Distinguish Konnext's administrative work from decisions made by the licensing authority, state or payer. No approval date or payment outcome is guaranteed.
